Publication Ethics
POSTech Journal: Politic, Society and Technology Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring the integrity of the academic record. We follow ethical guidelines based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal requires all parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to adhere to ethical behavior at every stage of the publication process.
1. Duties of Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original work and properly cite the work of others. Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable.
-
Data Access and Retention: Authors should provide access to raw data upon reasonable request and ensure accurate representation of data in the manuscript.
-
Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently.
-
Authorship: All authors must have made significant contributions to the research and agree to the final submitted version.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest or financial support that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
2. Duties of Editors
-
Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit without regard to race, gender, religious belief, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors.
-
Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or publisher.
-
Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which articles to publish based on the reviewers' evaluation and the journal’s scope and policies.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and not shared with others.
-
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively, without personal criticism of the author.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews within the agreed time frame or inform the editor if they are unable to do so.
-
Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and alert the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap with another publication.
4. Publisher's Responsibilities
-
Ethical Oversight: The publisher (Suryakanta Institute) supports editorial decisions and ensures the ethical integrity of the publication process.
-
Handling Misconduct: The publisher, in collaboration with editors, will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent publication malpractice, including plagiarism and data falsification.
Any suspected ethical violations will be investigated thoroughly in accordance with COPE guidelines, and appropriate actions will be taken.
